Abstract:
The article examines the ethical dimensions of management. Business activities take place in a context increasingly pervaded by scientific and technological innovations, but not necessarily by morality, ethics and sense of responsibility, though this substantial transformation goes beyond the business dimension and affects the individuals, the traditional values and the ecological system itself. The new ethical dimension of management not only maximizes the specific values of economy, efficiency, productivity and progress, but moves through the logics of welfare more than well-have. In this context the concept of management expands from the strictly economic area as instrument to create profit and resources, to the one of instrument that fosters and protects the human person, society and the environment, which are the final objectives of the activity of an enterprise. The managerial ethics, therefore, emerges throughout new and more responsible attitudes and behaviour of rational persons increasingly conscious of the consequences of their decisions, who act as promoters of a qualitative growth of the individual and collective welfare and of the defence of the natural heritage, which is the patrimony of the entire humanity.
