CurryBoy Asked: How much does race matter to you?
Do you define yourself by your race solely?
Will all the racism you spout be worth it when you're old and dying, on your deathbed will you be saying to yourself "Im really glad at how bigoted i was, i think i gave as good as i got whilst blissfully unaware that i was a cog in the wheel for racism. But i don't care because im so unbelievably proud of my race – It was worth it"…?
How can you endorse the negative feelings we have toward each other?
Why should White people today feel guilty and scared? That doesn't promote communication, it reinforces fear and it cant be a life of bliss if you feel guilt for what past whites did.
Why should colored people in the west be denied a standard of life that whites live?
If they were born in the west, chances are they're not going to be exposed to the same opportunities as whites. People only have one life that they are conscious and aware of, why should that life be condemned to inherent misery?
Point is, i know that people don't want to rock the status quo because it suits them in there favor, but what goes up must come down, simple law of gravity, and is germane and mirrored in all the past civilizations that have fallen.
America cannot reign forever so why promote separatism in the wake of inevitable collapse?
Why not communicate better with other races so that rises and falls become less bloody?
I truly believe that one day in the future either coffee colored or all different races will study our period and say "What a bunch of uncivilized xenophobic morons" as they work together in utter unison.
Peace.
Answers:
I'm not racist but don't care for whites or what ever it is black people are up to.
I also will only date a girl if she is attractive, is Mexican – American, or born in Mexico. I hate seeing my beautiful Mexicanas with ugly white boys & Ugly black fools.
its not affecting my life in anyway.,.. im ignoring the racists.
Not enough to read the novel above.
This is Y/A not Barnes&Nobles.
Not much. It's PART of me, but it's certainly not THE defining thing.
okay, i'll answer our question one by one.
No, i don't identify myself solely by my race, though i do use it as an excuse. if there is something particular about my traits or actions that is not inherent in my hispanic friends, i'd just say, "it's cuz i'm asian," and they'd accept that.
Actually, i think nothing will be worth it when you're on the deathbed. at most, life itself is the only thing that matters.
as for the negative feelings we have towards each other, i think i comes from basic mistrust of things that are different. because of this mistrust, people are wary of each other, and are afraid to approach, much less get to really know and relate to each other. in not understanding, parents tell/teach their children stereotypical (bad) stories about different people.
(sorry, i'm not white, i can't answer why whites are feeling scared and guilty.)
honestly, i don't think colored people are deprived of the standard of living. i think it's just a matter of where you live. as for being born in the west and same oppurtunities, i think the only outstanding thing is that schools in the east are indoor, and schools in california are outdoor (no hallways here, just the sky and occassional rain).
in my opinion, the last two questions can only be answered by the present generation and how they decide to teach the future generations. and as always, the all knowing deity up there knows the answer too.
